Service

If you are interested in planning or assisting with service opportunities, please contact Alix Radke at alixradke2026@u.northwestern.edu

  • Connections for the Homeless
On the third Thursday of the month, LCMNU students prepare and serve 30 meals for residents at Margarita Inn, a transitional housing shelter. During the summer months, LCMNU sends a monthly donation to help cover the cost of these meals. Throughout the academic year, LCMNU also prepared bag lunches for Connections’ drop-in shelter.

Education and Dialogue

21theo

Students attending 21theo meet 7:00pm–8:00pm on Wednesdays, following Supper Worship.

This program is designed for anyone interested in informally discussing scripture, theology, and religion in relation to modern culture, regardless of beliefs or background. Each week, we’ll have a different topic for debate and dialogue. If you’re interested in these sorts of conversations, we’d love to have you!

If you have any questions about “21theo,” please contact our Student Ministers, Cole Morgan, at Colemorgan2027@u.northwestern.edu or Sophie Ruddy at sophieruddy2027@u.northwestern.edu

  • Purple Pantry and Food Accessibility

Purple Pantry is open weekly on Thursdays from 11:00am–2:00pm. It is now located in Hinman Hall (1835 Hinman Ave Evanston, IL 60208).

Purple Pantry is the on-campus food pantry that students facing food insecurity (nonreliable access to a sufficient quantity of nutritious food) can go to fill that need. The Purple Pantry is intended to be as barrier-free as possible, so it accommodates individuals with vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, kosher, and halal dietary needs.
