Sharing Stories from LCMNU
February 2025
A message from the Development Chair
I hope that you are enjoying LCMNU’s newsletter, NUrturing Faith; I am so excited to share these stories with you! As part of the LCMNU Development Committee, I have the privilege of helping to collect these stories and hear first-hand from others whose lives have been impacted by their time at LCMNU. These stories help to outline the breadth of individual experiences of students and alumni, while also pointing to throughlines like faith formation, leadership, and service, and show the ways LCMNU affects lives of students at Northwestern and beyond.
At LCMNU, students kicked off this winter quarter with visiting SkyZone Trampoline Park for a fellowship event, and they are looking forward to many things this quarter! Wednesday night Supper Worship continues, and the 21theo weekly education hour this quarter will focus on LCMNU’s long standing identity as an RIC congregation with a study of queer theologies and hosting a guest preacher/workshop leader. The Student Leadership Board elections will be held this quarter, as students take an active role in shaping the ministry at LCMNU over the next year. Students are also engaged in the Evanston community, planning a Valentine’s Day party at Margarita Inn, a transitional housing shelter, and a workshop with Connections for the Homeless on affordable housing and rezoning.
As an alum of LCMNU myself, I find it inspiring to hear these stories and hear the goings-on of students at the ministry; the work of LCMNU started long before I was a student at Northwestern and still continues today. Thank you for your continued support of LCMNU.
Peace, Johnathan Frank, LCMNU Development Committee Chair
