Sharing Stories from LCMNU

November 2024

A message from the Campus Pastor

I am so pleased to share LCMNU’s new newsletter: NUrturing Faith. As the campus pastor, I, often, have the privilege of hearing how LCMNU nurtures faith and changes the lives of students and alumni. Now, YOU get to hear these transformational stories and recognize how your support of LCMNU provides the opportunity to impact and change the lives and life stories of students.

Students are now at midterm, and even though their schedules are full, they’re engaged at LCMNU. The table is filled at our weekly Supper Worship (with homemade meals provided by generous volunteers). Our student ministers are teaching a Bible study on Exodus and inviting peers to reflect on the power of “empire” and the solidarity of God with the powerless. Students also enact this solidarity: in the last month, they have provided 110 meals for our neighbors at a local shelter and hosted a Trivia Night raising $1,000 to support victims of Hurricane Helene and services for migrants in Chicago.

At LCMNU, faith is nurtured, enacted, and shared, and because of this, not only are the students’ lives impacted, but they impact the lives of many beyond LCMNU!

With gratitude, Pastor Deanna
